Minecraft Server Status Checker

Check whether a Minecraft Java server is online and see its version, latency, player count and MOTD.

This checker uses the Minecraft Java status ping. Bedrock servers are not supported yet.

Enter a public Minecraft Java server address to see live status here.

How to use it

How the Minecraft status check works

The tool sends the server the same status request the Minecraft client sends when it shows the server list. From the reply it shows the version, player count, MOTD and latency measured from our web server.

If you enter a domain without a port, the tool first looks up the _minecraft._tcp SRV record — it lets players join on just a domain even when the server does not run on the default port 25565.

  1. Enter the server address — a domain, or an IP with port (for example play.example.com or 203.0.113.10:25565).
  2. The result shows whether the server responds and its details.
  3. For a domain, also check the SRV record line to verify your DNS setup.
FAQ

Minecraft server status

Why does the tool say the server is offline?

The server may be stopped, the address or port may be wrong, or a firewall blocks the port. The tool supports Java Edition only — it cannot check Bedrock servers.

What is an SRV record?

A DNS record that says which address and port a Minecraft server actually runs on. It lets players enter just a domain without a port number.

The latency differs from my in-game ping.

Latency is measured from our web server, not your computer. It confirms the server responds; it does not measure your connection.
